Accomplished Musical Superstar to Share Stories of Music, Love, Addiction and Recovery
LORAIN, OHIO – Grammy award winning singer-songwriter Judy Collins, famous for creating music of hope and healing that speaks to the heart, will be the keynote speaker this year at the 2018 The LCADA Way Pearls of Wisdom Annual Benefit and Recognition Dinner to be held October 25th at the Emerald Event Center in Avon, Ohio. The LCADA Way, a private, non-profit organization that serves Lorain and Medina counties and surrounding communities, is recognized as a proven leader in wellness and addiction recovery since 1981.
Since the 60’s, Judy Collins has inspired audiences with sublime vocals, boldly vulnerable songwriting, personal life triumphs, and a firm commitment to social activism, evoking both the idealism and steely determination of a generation united against social and environmental injustices. Over five decades later, her presence shines brightly as new generations bask in the glow of her iconic 50-album body of work, heed inspiration from her spiritual discipline to entertain and thrive.
“We are very excited to have Judy Collins as the keynote speaker at our annual benefit and recognition dinner”, said The LCADA Way President and CEO, Thomas D. Stuber. “Her personal experiences, esteemed career and story of addiction triumph and recovery will be sure to inspire all.”
Judy Collins, now 79, is as creatively vigorous as ever, singing, writing, touring worldwide, and nurturing fresh talent. She remains an accomplished painter, filmmaker, record label head, musical mentor, an in-demand keynote speaker for mental health, recovery and suicide prevention.
