Zoup! Feeds Women and Children of The LCADA Way

Local Soup Company to Feed Residents of Women’s Rehabilitation Center in Lorain

AVON LAKE, OHIO – Zoup! Fresh Soup Company and The LCADA Way announce a year-long partnership to feed the residents of the KEY rehabilitation center in Lorain, Ohio. The partnership, beginning in May 2016, is the first of its kind for LCADA, allowing a local restaurant to supply meals to residents as a way to support the non-profit organization.

“We are very excited about this unique partnership with Zoup!, who is new to the Lorain county area, bringing a fresh approach to in-kind donations,” said LCADA President and CEO Thomas Stuber. “The partnership is a way for us to get involved with small businesses around the area, and being a non-profit, it helps us defray some of our overhead costs. It gives our residence something to look forward to, and lets them know others in the community support their journey of recovery.”

Zoup! will cater dinner for the women and their children in residence at the KEY on the first Wednesday of each month from its location in Avon Commons. Each month, the residents will be treated to the restaurant’s always-rotating 12 daily soups, as well their distinctive array of made-to-order salads and sandwiches.

“We are excited to partner with The LCADA Way and the women of the KEY,” said Zoup! franchise owner Colleen Hopkins. “Reaching out and being directly involved with people in our community is at the heart of who we are at Zoup! Soup is good for the body and the soul, much like the work that is happening at TheLCADA Way, so this partnership seems to be a perfect fit.”

The LCADA Way is open to additional partnerships with other businesses in the community, including an Adopt-A-Bed program, in which an individual or business makes a monetary donation in support of a resident’s recovery. The agency’s golf outing and annual recognition dinner serve as additional fundraising opportunities. For more information on these events, or other ways to get involved, call Joe Matuscak or visit the website, www.thelcadaway.org.

The KEY, The LCADA Way’s residential facility located in Lorain, Ohio, provides a caring and supportive atmosphere for women and their children in recovery, so that they regain control of their lives. The KEY supports recovery from chemical dependency 24 hours a day, utilizing the 12-step recovery process. The average client may remain in the program for 60 days or up to 6 months.

Also as part of the program, The LCADA Way offers a Children's Developmental Assessment whereby each child of a KEY resident is tested according to age-appropriate developmental standards. This assures that children of clients are also on-track to becoming healthy adults.

Zoup! is the leading fast-casual soup restaurant concept that is defining the category with its award-winning soups and made-to-order sandwiches and salads. Zoup! has 11 Northeast Ohio locations (owned and operated by local independent franchisees) including Avon, Westlake, and Rocky River (opening in late spring 2016). Each location offers 12 always-rotating varieties of soup each day from its collection of hundreds of proprietary recipes. "Something for Everyone" nutritional options include low-fat, dairy-free, vegetarian, spicy and made with gluten- free ingredients.
