The Key Women’s Center Residential Housing
The KEY is our residential facility located in Lorain which provides a supportive and caring environment for women and their children (ages 0-5) as they work to regain control of their lives. The KEY helps women recover from substance use disorders 24 hours a day, utilizing research-based models of care and a 12-step recovery process. The length of treatment is based on how quickly each individual stabilizes and develops the recovery skills needed to ensure lasting success.
We believe that concentrating on family is vital in the recovery process. The LCADA Way has designed programs for children whose mothers are in treatment. We provide therapeutic childcare, which is designed to assess how well a child is functioning developmentally and to identify and address any problems. Our goal is to ensure that these children remain on track to become healthy adults.
Trauma Informed Care
The LCADA Way utilizes a trauma informed care approach. All clinical staff have been trained in understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma.
The LCADA Way Family Programming is offered as an open-ended educational support group. It is designed and conducted primarily for parents, spouses and other family members who are concerned about a loved one’s harmful use of alcohol or other drugs.
The goal of The LCADA Way Day Treatment Program is to help our clients develop the support, skills and tools that will allow them to remain abstinent and to recover from their chronic, progressive and fatal disease. Our treatment requires that individuals use helpful skills and take responsibility to manage their recovery. Groups are conducted 5 days per week with additional individual therapy sessions when needed.
Intensive Outpatient Program
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a comprehensive treatment approach for women which includes an initial evaluation, educational groups, group therapy as well as individual and family therapy sessions and 12-step support groups. Our goal is to help women develop skills and tools that will lead them to recovery and overall wellness.
Medical Services – Ambulatory Detox
The Ambulatory Detox Program was created as a result of the overwhelming need for those suffering from opiate addiction and the limited availability of detox beds. Ambulatory Detox is an outpatient service that assists individuals through a safe, medically monitored withdrawal process from opiates. It includes a complete medical evaluation, medications to ease the distress of physical withdrawal, and immediate placement in the appropriate level of rehabilitation.
The last phase of recovery is our AfterCare Program. This level of care helps women continue to develop relapse prevention skills and provides a strong support network which enables them to maintain long term recovery.
Transportation & Childcare
Transportation and childcare are available to women while they are in treatment. Pre-school age children can reside with their mother during treatment. At The LCADA Way we offer a complete range of alcohol, drug and behavioral health programs that focus on helping women and their families, including: rehabilitation, medical services, parenting training and coaching, vocational and educational services as well as assistance with supportive housing. We also offer specialized programs for pregnant women or those who have recently given birth.
